Every donation provides people in our community with a place to shop for low-cost goods, and every purchase helps fund Mission services like community meals, overnight shelter, and our Life Change Addiction Recovery Program. Many of the men in our program get hands-on training by working in our Thrift Store, which gives them real-life job experience for when they return to our community.
The Market Street Mission maintains a 25,000 square foot industrial center, which houses the Thrift Store and Warehouse, at the end of George Street off Martin Luther King Avenue. Among the items offered for sale at bargain prices are new and used furniture, clothing, housewares, appliances, sporting goods, office furnishings, and knick-knacks. The Thrift Store accepts donations of most items except toys, books, medical equipment, baby furniture and damaged furniture. Donations are tax-deductible, and all proceeds support the Mission’s work to provide hope and healing to neighbors in need in our community.
