Market Street Mission is gearing up our annual backpack giveway. Last year we collected over $25,026.12 worth of school supplies and $12,876.32 in funds to purchase additional supplies that helped to fill and distribute 1,427 backpacks for local needy children of all grades. We are only able to fill the backpacks through the generosity of the community!
Here's how you can help:
- Donate supplies or take up a collection of supplies at your school, house of worship or local business.
- Set up a charity bagging day at your local grocery store.
- Sponsor an elementary, middle school, or high school child, providing all the items for a backpack along with a personalized note of encouragement for the new school year.
- Volunteer to help fill and/or distribute the backpacks. Backpack Assembly will be Monday – Friday, August 7th-11th from 9-11 am or 1-3 pm each day. The Give-Away day will be on Sunday, August 20th from 12:30-4:00 pm.
